Tough love is not the norm in our society or our schools. Parents and teachers are reluctant to be firm with their children and students. In many schools, the prisoners are running the jail and discipline is in another universe.
I am not advocating for physical interventions. But children and students need to be called out for bad behavior.
Note that the military is able to take below-average people and mold them into great humans. How? Tough love and discipline.
